FAQs about Family Law (Brevard County, FL)

The firm puts out a great little piece about How to Choose a Lawyer and usually we mail with it some information about family law issues such as.  (If you are interested in these topics you can call the office for a copy of our material or visit the website as well.)    Recently I came across a great article posted by the American Bar Assosciation titled and it seems a good, short list of things to consider about various concerns in the area of divorce, finding a divorce lawyer, what to do about child custody, and others.

Take a minute to read the full ABA article on family law and follow the links through to the accompanying articles.    Take a minute also to review our on the firm site serving all of Brevard.

Great Day Oviedo – Seminole County Event 2012

From: Great Day in the Country

“… [This] is a huge family-oriented Arts & Crafts event hosted by the GFWC Oviedo Woman’s Club.

We have over 350 Arts & Crafts Booths, Business Booths, and Community Service Booths.  Entertainment is provided throughout the day on 2 stages.  We also have a special children’s play area and lots of food & drinks.

The event is located on the grounds of Lawton Elementary School, 151 Graham Avenue, Oviedo, FL 32765.  If you go to the intersection of Lake Jessup Avenue and Broadway (also known as S.R. 426 and Aloma), it’s impossible to miss it.

FREE parking is available at Oviedo High School, and you can ride the FREE shuttle bus to and from the show.

Shuttle Bus Details. The free shuttle bus will run continuously from 9 to 4, but if you’d like to walk, the high school is close enough to get to Great Day by foot. The bus picks up from the street that runs adjacent to the football field (King Street, look for a big sign). The bus drops/picks up at Great Day on the bus ramp of Lawton Elementary (on the east side of the cafeteria near ArtFest). It usually completes a drop-off/pick-up circuit once every 20 minutes.  The shuttle bus has room to stash strollers and wheelchairs for the ride, and it is air conditioned.

Paid Parking. Various close (and privately owned) locations around the show offer convenient parking at rates usually ranging from $5 to $10. The donations often benefit local civic groups or charities and the lots are typically roped off with signage indicating the rate and the cause.”

Local Conservative Radio Host Picks Ken Rhoden

Posted by BLK

Just in the last few days, local conservative radio host, Bill Mick, released his popular How I Plan to Vote commentary. This article gives listeners and local residents his personal voting choices with some of the reasoning behind them. Bill is an involved member of the community, a conservative, and a very popular local radio personality on WMMB.

Bill released his vote choices for every race from the US level, to the state, circuit, and local levels.

Bill is choosing to vote for Ken Rhoden over his opponent saying,

“This is a question of which lawyer is best equipped to be the CEO of criminal defense in our area. Blaise Trettis is a career Public Defender and currently manages in the office. Ken Rhoden has worked in that office and in private practice. I prefer the business experience over bureaucracy in this case. I believe a new set of eyes managing the office will serve Brevard and Seminole better than more of the same. Ken Rhoden gets my vote.”

Several weeks ago Bill hosted a forum between Ken and his opponent.  You can listen to the entire interview or you can view the Bill Mick post interview video here.

The post interview video is very interesting for several reasons such as 1) Blaise did not know the budget method his own office uses, 2) Blaise lied in this video saying he is a first time candidate then backtracks with excuses about his campaign in 2008, and 3) Blaise clearly opposes improvements to the criminal rules of procedure that he doesn’t use nor seem to even understand.
