Cocoa Village Mardi Gras Time is Here Again

…  entering a float in the parade this year.  You’ll have to attend the event to see what the float is all about but so far there is a House and  Jail Cell being built for the float.  I’ve heard a rumor that there may be a “convict” in the jail cell but I can’t confirm or deny the identity of that potential convict.

Mardi Gras in Cocoa Village is February 9-10 and the parade is on Feb. 9th starting around 9pm.  The floats will circle Cocoa Village twice and everyone attending is sure to leave with as many beads as they can carry!

Ken Rhoden: Gone to the Dogs?

Sunday, February 26, was Cocoa Village‘s Paws in the Park celebration which rounded out the weekend of Mardi Gras fun and frivolity!   The Vote Rhoden Crew was out in force at the dog-centric event gathering petitions and meeting the 2 legged and 4 legged visitors.   There was a Parade of Pets, a costume contest, and even a King & Queen of Paws in the Park were crowned.   Ken was greeted enthusiastically by both humans and canines.  This is a must-add for next year if you are an animal lover.  (Oh, and by the way, it is FREE!)

Here’s a photo of the rescued poodle that is Ken’s campaign helper! (He was rescued through Coastal Poodle Rescue.)

Cocoa Village Mardi Gras Parade with Ken Rhoden

Ken Rhoden and his crew are going to be IN the Cocoa Village Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, February 25th at 8pm.  Riders will be tossing beads and Mardi Gras coins out to the crowd along the route through beautiful Cocoa Village.  Schedule of events for the evening can be found on the official website.   But the weekend is chock full of fun activities for all the members of your family – including the dogs!
