Ken Rhoden: Gone to the Dogs?

Sunday, February 26, was Cocoa Village‘s Paws in the Park celebration which rounded out the weekend of Mardi Gras fun and frivolity!   The Vote Rhoden Crew was out in force at the dog-centric event gathering petitions and meeting the 2 legged and 4 legged visitors.   There was a Parade of Pets, a costume contest, and even a King & Queen of Paws in the Park were crowned.   Ken was greeted enthusiastically by both humans and canines.  This is a must-add for next year if you are an animal lover.  (Oh, and by the way, it is FREE!)

Here’s a photo of the rescued poodle that is Ken’s campaign helper! (He was rescued through Coastal Poodle Rescue.)

Brevard Superhero 5k Benefitting the Guardian Ad Litem Program

The Brevard County Guardian Ad Litem program hosted a fundraiser Superhero 5k run/walk today, February 4, 2012.  The event was held at Space Coast Stadium and was well attended (just see the crowds in the photos!)

Ken ran in the 5k to support this worthy cause and run he did.  No wonder he’s been called Rocket Rhoden!  He placed first in his age group with a solid 8:08 per mile pace.  But as always, Ken directed attention to the real reason for the event,  “The kids are the ones that need to win and supporting local fundraisers like the Superhero 5k is one way that all of us can help.  Run or walk,  donate time or door prizes,  there is something we all can do,” said Ken.
