FAQs about Family Law (Brevard County, FL)

The firm puts out a great little piece about How to Choose a Lawyer and usually we mail with it some information about family law issues such as dissolution of marriage, custody topics, or alimony changes.  (If you are interested in these topics you can call the office for a copy of our material or visit the website as well.)    Recently I came across a great article posted by the American Bar Assosciation titled Frequently Asked Questions About Family Law and it seems a good, short list of things to consider about various concerns in the area of divorce, finding a divorce lawyer, what to do about child custody, and others.

Take a minute to read the full ABA article on family law and follow the links through to the accompanying articles.    Take a minute also to review our own “10 Divorce Mistakes To Avoid” on the firm site serving all of Brevard including Melbourne, Cocoa, Titusville, Palm Bay, Melbourne Beach, Cape Canaveral, Indialantic, Eau Gallie, Suntree, Viera with our two offices, six attorneys, and extensive experience.

Friday Fest was Very Festive!

Friday, January 13, Ken and quite a few volunteers attended Downtown Melbourne’s Friday Fest celebration hosted by Melbourne Mainstreet.  There was music, laughter, and great fun from before 6pm all the way to closing at 10pm.  Several hundred people young and young-at-heart came by, met Ken, signed ballot petitions, and made everyone smile.  The Vote Rhoden team table was ablaze with light and bright personalities.  Thank you to all the volunteers (human and canine!) who gave up their warm plans to come and work with Ken in the chilly evening air.

If you would like to volunteer to help in the future, please call Ken, email, or visit the Volunteer Page here on this site.

Remember, Friday Fest is the 2nd Friday of every month (except December) and is a great place to spend the evening with your family!

Visiting Tallahassee

Last week Ken spent a few days in Tallahassee and it was a great trip.   Visiting the capitol building is always a good experience and meeting some new and old friends was very nice.  A side trip to Ken’s alma mater, Florida State University College of Law brought back memories.   Florida Tax Watch is housed in a beautiful old church and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The offices are fully renovated inside however the bones of the church are preserved and it was an amazing location for a meeting.

Mims Christmas Parade

Ken and supporters participated in the Mims Christmas parade on December 3.  The group walked the entire route while handing out candy and, in Ken’s case, shaking hands with supporters all along the way.   What a great group of people to turn out for the parade!  Ken’s group handed out over 15 pounds of candy! While Little Miss Mims Mullet Maiden did not ride with Ken in this parade, he did get to have a photo taken with her.

Ken Volunteering at USS Ponce Homecoming

Tuesday, November 1 Ken Rhoden will be working with the local veteran’s groups AVET Project, Inc. to provide a warm welcome to the crew of the USS Ponce.  Today’s event is private, only for the crew, but you can be part of the happenings between Nov. 2 – 5.   Visit AVET’s website for more information or view the event flyer.

AVET stands for American Veteran’s Empowerment Team.  Their mission is to bring focus upon and heighten awareness to the needs of United States service men and women and other needy Americans in providing programs and services of assistance, entertainment and counseling by enlisting the public’s aid.
